Any tips to know before cutting my hair like this?

I don't think it's much different to having long hair.

I have short hair (shorter than the picture posted) and find a round dryer brush (Like the Babyliss BigHair for example) really is a life saver when it comes to styling my hair. I also find that it looks better if I have loose curls rather than tight ones and keep the underneath layers relatively straight to reduce bulk and avoid that triangular shape you can sometimes get if you curl it all.

You might want something to give you a little volume at the roots so it doesn't look too flat. I had a similar cut once and found volumising powder or a root spray before blow drying, and a liiiiittle bit of teasing helped :)
