How Much Heat Is Too Much Heat?

It all depends. You can't have the three things everyone wants. Coloring, heat, and long hair. You can only really pick two. So if you REALLY want long hair, choose between coloring it and using heat. I would try to only use heat one a week, if you can. Then try to lengthen that. Then test out some heartless curls, that might help, a lot. Like personally, I want really long hair, but I color it. So I don't use heat unless it's a special event. And even then sometimes I just do heatless curls. But make sure to take care of your hair. Get trims, do treatments, don't wash it everyday, ect ect. Hope I helped!

Maybe blow dry it straight with a comb/brush on the coolest setting shouldnt do to much damage!

It all depends. The type of hair you have and how processed it is.
Really make sure you hair is moisturized and you do protein treatments etc. try to do the lowest heat temperature that you can with your hair type.

Coloring the hair shouldn't do much damage

Have you tried blowing it out smooth with a brush and a hairdryer? That would last longer than straightening and be better for your hair

Try to just wash you hair every second day so you'll only have to straighten it every 2 days
And don't use hear on the weekends if you can because I personally think using heat every single day is a bit too much for hair to handle, too much for my hair at least

What I've been told is it doesn't matter how much heat you apply to your hair as long as you take really good care of it. I have super curly hair but I straighten it everyday and dye it every other month or so. But I take good care of it, deep conditioning, masks, hella heat protectant and I trim my ends often. And my hair is surprisingly really healthy (:

I am trying to dye my hair and I didn't use heat on it for two months (all of summer) but school for me is starting back next week...I really need to straighten it. If I don't my hair is so unmanageable and crazy. So how many times in one month do you think I could use heat (with heat protect) before it's too much? I would do other hairstyles but my hair is at an awkward length so I can't do anything with it. My hair is right above my.boobs and I've been growing it out for a year now. Thanks everyone!!
