Hello everyone! So on Wednesday (2 days from now), my friend is coming over and she wants to dye her virign hair a pastel pink. The problem is that her hair is not blonde With Asian hair, she has a medium brown color with natural red and blonde highlights/strands. I am planning on bleaching her hair on Wednesday and get it as light as I can without breakage with the Feria bleach. I understand that a true pastel color NEEDS white blonde hair, and that her hair will lift out brassy and not as light. I'm wondering if I can still achieve a light pink color with the probable outcome of a dark brassy blonde color. I have included a picture of her hair, which is very similar to how it looks in person.

Also, I forgot to mention that we are planning on using Manic Panic Cotton Candy dye. Although I've heard it does fade, it's just something for fun since it's our senior year in high school. ^^

I know that some toners exist to buy, these remove the brassines of the hair. This could help (:

This saves you from extra dye.

You're going to need a stronger bleach than that to get it to a light blonde. I would highly recommend going to your local beauty supply and talking to them. It's also going to take more than one bleach session to get a light color and some spots might be uneven. Also be warned that if she has red tones it can pull a reddish color. If it's not a light blonde color you won't get a pastel pink color specially with manic panic cotton candy color (I've used it multiple times)

Use a 30 volume developer. Trust me Asian hair is very hard to lift in one bleach session. Buy at least 2 packs of bleach packets too. :)

I wouldn't recommend doing this yourself at all.
Manic panic cotton candy pink is incredibly light, I have a photo with it, it's super pastel. You will need white hair. Bleached, toned and zero yellow or orange tones in the hair. I wouldn't do this in one go, especially if you are inexperienced with bleach and don't know how to handle every possible outcome of it.
Justine is right too, you'll definitely need a stronger actual bleach rather than a box dye.

She should just do spray dye or some thing. Her hair will be ruined, no doubt about it. I had purple hair, I loved it.. but I ended cutting my hair again from major damage.

Queen - that's really not always or even usually the case. If you go to an experienced professional who knows what they're doing with bleach and doesn't do it all in one go, its really no more damaging then dying it.

My hair is healthier than most people's unbleached hair, and it has been bleached several times. You definitely need to get a trim a bit, but not more than an inch if done properly.
