For the appearance of longer eyelashes, you got to CURL. After curling use two mascaras rather than 1. Make sure both of them are waterproof (it holds the curl better). I love the maybelline waterproof mascaras, the maybelline one by one in waterproof is my favourite

This isn't one single mascara, but I swear by using L'Oreal Power Volume 24 hr Black Smoke at the base of the lashes and L'Oreal Telescopic Shocking Extensions at the tips. It makes them look soooo big.

I second Shelley on L'Oreal Voluminous. I also second Morgan on the Telescopic mascara as well - I use the Carbon Black versions of these and pair them together for the ultimate, long & thick lash look.
I've learned one trick though - wipe excess mascara off of the wand to avoid clumping - especially with the Telescopic mascara. Way too much product gets on that brush and caused my lashes to clump together.

L'Oreal's Voluminous, Dior's Iconic Overcurl and my absolute favorite (which doesn't seem to get much attention) is Mally's Volume mascara. I only need one dip of the brush and one coat for both eyes for daily use. If you get hers on a special a lot of times it works out to only $10 per tube. You might want to try a mascara base for extra oomph or try something like Sephora's Lash stash which has a bunch of minis of different formulas in order to find one you like.
