I've been debating for the last few years about going to a makeup school. A lot of people say it's not worth it you can teach yourself. But then other people say its amazing and builds confidence etc.
I'm an amateur artist with a bit of experience but I don't consider myself at a pro level because I have a few weaknesses I need to work on and I also want to learn things such as SFX, Advanced fashion makeup, and airbrush.
Should I go to makeup school? Or stick to blogs, books, and practice? Someone please help! I don't know what to do!! Thanks :)

If you want it then go for it, I'm pretty sure you will learn a lot of new things and meet some amazing people

You are able to learn a good portion of the skills you can in a school from books/YouTube/practice but it's the experience and (hopefully) reputation of the school that will really help you out. Plus you get to meet a bunch of lovely people interested in the same thing who you can learn from.
If you're really passionate/interested in makeup, I'd say go for it!

I think hands on experience is the best teacher. I've always been good at makeup but I started working at a makeup store a year ago and my skills have greatly enhanced. We are required to attend so much training that I feel like I'm in school constantly. Maybe try that before spending the $$ on school. However, always follow you gut. You know what's best for you?
