Hey y'all! so I have pretty thin lips (top is thinner than the bottom one), and I was wondering what lipstick or lip products/techniques I could use to either make my lips appear larger? also, every time I try to wear lipstick, it looks awful. like I'm trying too hard or something. it just doesn't really look right, and I feel like that's maybe because they're thin? or maybe I'm just not using good colors? I don't know, I've tried like every color in the universe. I would just really love to know why that is, and what I can do to make my lips look good with color on them (for extra info, in extremely pale, and I don't know if that would maybe have something to do with it?

You can over line your lips to make them appear larger, just don't go too overboard otherwise it'll look obvious. You can contour lightly under your bottom lip and also highlight your Cupid's bow. Adding a slightly lighter shade to the center of the lips will help as well and glossy finishes rather than mattes will make your lips appear larger also (:

I agree with alexis :) also it probably doesn't look like you're trying too hard, but since you feel that way I'd suggest doing a really simple makeup look (brows, face, mascara) and then putting on lipstick, I just started wearing bright lip colors about 2 years ago so I know how you feel because at the beginning you're not used to it, but once you wear it out a couple times it'll just feel normal like if you put some eyeshadow on or did winged liner :)

There's a lot of YouTube videos that can help you with the makeup part. But I used to have what I thought were thinner lips as well. Then I started exfoliating and moisturizing them. Now, I have pretty decently sized lips. That's more for the long term though. About the color types, make sure you know your skin tone and study up on what shades will go with it. I did this for my mom and she has shades that look good on her too now.
