If your hair has any damage I wouldn't attempted to go silver because that requires a lot of bleaching. But if you do do it make sure you do it in steps and not all at once.

If you aren't sure of a color then I recommend baby steps! Try just doing the tips first. If it doesn't work then you can cut it off. Personally I think the silver trend doesn't do anyone any favors (A few years ago I streaked my hair purple..I LOVED it, but when it faded it turned silver and I looked like Rogue from X-men). You look like you could pull off a dark purple or a royal blue (just my opinion)?
