Ladies I can't seem to keep my nailpolish on for longer than a day before it starts to chip. any tips on how to make it last longer? I use topcoat-color-topcoat should I be using a basecoat? also I'm using Sally Hanson diamond topcoat, is there a better one out there?

I always use a base coat, but mostly to keep my nails healthy and to avoid them getting stained - I don't really feel a base coat makes my polish last longer.
I would say try a new top coat - personally I swear by the scehe vite top coat! Also it can be a good idea to apply thinner coats of the color polish - so first a thin thin coat of color, then letting it completely dry and then apply a second coat to even out the color!
This is what I do and my polish last from 4-6 days!

Gillian, I agree with Sabrina. However, base coats are important in my opinion. Not only do they protect your nails, but they give something for the nail polish to adhere to. Here's what I do: base coat, wait a few mins, 2 thin coats of polish (waiting a few mins between each coat), then seche vite on top. Make sure to wrap your nails with each polish, I.e. Seal the edges. Using good polishes, my manicure will last about a week.

Great tips,you can also try gel polish... they can last you two weeks.

I get a gel manicure because I hate how regular polish chips almost instantly. It lasts for up to 3 weeks when I get it done at the nail salon. You might want to try one of the home gel kits. I love gel nails. They don't look fake like acrylics but they last longer than regular polish.

Try using CND base coat called sticky, also a good top coat is out the door.

I've tried running a cotton ball with white vinegar over the nails, before polish. it helped make the polish last. you then apply polish as usual it honestly seemed to prevent chipping by at least 4 days.
