Hey everyone,
I was interested in mixing cover fx drops with sunscreen, specially Josie Maran argan SPF 47. Do you have any experiences? Sephora reviews say it is difficult to mix and exaggerates lines.

It mixes beautifully, I'd suggest getting a sample & trying it out w/ several different liquid mediums.

I have both and I don't have any issue with application or exaggerating fine lines. What I do is pump the JM in my palm and then add the Cover Drops...I then put my palms together to mix and warm up the JM at the same time and apply on my face. It sinks right into my skin with no issue. The fine line issue...might be coming from users who have seriously dehydrated/dry skin.

Thanks Shelley. Have you tried the jm tinted version?

What do you think is more worth it...
the drops or a good bb cream?

The drops are great if you are looking to either lighten or darken up a foundation or tinted spf and the thought of having two of one product just doesn't make sense. While I love the ease of use I don't see it as an absolute must have. In your case I would investigate CC creams. I know you asked about BB creams but a CC has those color correcting capabilities that in my opinion are more worthy than a BB cream (blemish balm). I have Bobbi Brown's CC cream and her BB cream and I see a huge difference between the two. My chin area is a lil darker than the rest of my face and the CC actually evens it out a tad while I find the BB does nothing to correct that issue so I have to tweak that area with a corrector which is a pain when I'm in a hurry. JM Tinted version...I have yet to try that one and I probably won't because I don't think it will play well on my skintone and I have several tinted spf's I need to use up before diving into more (from Skinceuticals, Clarins and one I'm testing out for my husband that he crafted up).

Shelly W., hi! I have 3 bottles of a foundation that is too light for me (I stocked up when I thought I was that color!). I am probably a lot older than most of these beauties, so my concern is anti-aging, however this foundation is almost too moisturizing for me, once I get my moisturizers on. What would you suggest to darken these foundations and how do I know which color to mix them with to get my true color? Thanks!

Chris...you could probably revisit that particular formula in the winter months. I don't know how old you are but I'm 41 experiencing menapause and during the winter my skin is a lil parched so the super moisturizing foundations I reach for. Depending on the formula you could probably slink by just using a serum with a spf that is included. I've tried that with the IT Cosmetics CC cream and my Chanticaille foundation. As far as darkening them up its truly a trial and error process with the Cover Drops. I went two shades darker in the drops and stuck with a shade from the neutral side instead of golden. I'd advise just getting three samples of the drops in various shades and get ready to play chemist when you get home. Apply in natural light and even goes as far as standing outside with a mirror and looking at your skin from every angle once applied. It should just blend seamlessly into your skin.

The Pur Cosmetics CC cream reminds me a lot of the Korean ones by Skin79. That one is good.

Thanks so much Shelley! I am 58. (Ugh!) I guess I put my skin type in because I don't know if the drops add moisture or not - but I don't need any more moisture! I have fabulous sunscreens (if you're ever interested!). I am definitely interested in the drops! How do I get samples? I don't know if I'd even know where to start...!

You're welcome Chris. Sephora is your best bet for samples and they are very generous about it as well. The drops do not add further moisture. Its essentially liquid pigment. ;) And FYI you look a great 58!

I too am interested in the fx drops though. that would be nice to just add in with my moisturizer... as I love the JM. I always forget to ask about samples at Sephora... I don't know why.
Shelly, do you feel like you need to set it after. I know the Josie Maran leaves a very dewy feel to the skin (or at least on me). so does it slip around without setting?

Shelley, so I ended up getting the fx drops as I have an it cosmetics bb that I like, but it slightly dark. I so I got a shade lighter than my skin, probably on par with the shade of my winter skin. @ Kelly, I tried the tinted jm at sephora today and didn't like it, at least on my hand. It seemed too shiny and dark, is this the case when blended on the face? Your face looks flawless so I'm guessing I used too much?

It actually looks very orange right when I apply it..it looks about 3 shades too dark, but once it sinks into the skin the color seems to blend right in. I got the tinted with a QVC special value kit. It had the moisturizer, the Argan Oil Light, color stick and Mascara.
I would like to try the original version but I'm on Auto delivery with this kit for 3 more deliveries.

It is very dewy. but I have dry skin, so I like that about it.
is the original moisturizer "dewy"?

Thanks Shelly! Thanks to all you guys and your tips and knowledge!

Yes the original is dewy, which I really like, but the tinted seemed metallic. I might ask for a sample when I run out of the original and try it out properly
