So I got my nose pierced on my 16th birthday (May 12th) and I regretted it the first two days and then I kind of got used to it BUT I've never been able to have piercings without infections. I have my ears pierced and my cartilage was pierced but it ended up extremely infected so I took it out and let it close. I take care of my piercings but no girl in my family can have anything pierced and my nose ring started to hurt and there's stuff coming out of it now but I don't know what to do or if I should take it out or what?? I like it better now that it's been a few months and this is the first time I've had an issue with my nose being pierced.

No, don't take it out of if you feel as though it's infected, that could trap the infection inside and Cause other health problems like blood poisoning, etc. what have you been cleaning it with? And are you still cleaning it?

Just keep cleaning it and wait it out, don't take it out
Go to your piercer if you need advice, a regular doctor will just tell you to take it out

I clean it with the spray they gave me. I clean it daily but I feel like it just cleans my skin and not the actual hole. I don't know lol

Try taking a qtip with some soap on it and rubbing the outside them rinse. you can also try taking a qtip and putting it in alcohol and rubbing the inside with it, it's going to burn but it'll clean it. that's what I did when I thought mine a was getting infected. it could also be the material your jewelry is made of. also if it's not pierced correctly it can get infected. did you go to the same piercer that you got your cartilage done at? that could be your problem if you did.

I would recommend saline rinses and leaving the piercing in because taking the perching is just going to add more trauma to the infected area. Also the piercing is too new to use rubbing alcohol because it'll irritate it.

Never use alcohol on a unhealed piercing for it messed with scar tissue. Keep cleaning it, and go back to the piercer and see what they say. If there is white or green liquid call your doctor, or if it worsens in any way, call your doctor. And never take your piercing out if you think it's infected as Shaye said. Be careful!

I recently have gotten my nose pierced and it has been infected once. Your best bet is to continue to clean it with what they gave you and to go back to the piercer. That's what I did but the infection went away so I didn't have to go back. Wound wash works very well, even though it's just like saline solution.

Make sure to play with your piercing. Twirl it around to ensure bacteria isn't just caught tgere.
When you shower, you can take off your piercing to wash your nose and the piercing but then put back in (:

It's really sore right now but I've been cleaning it like crazy. I got it done at an actual piercing place that's extremely clean and I paid for the stud that wouldn't irritate my skin or cause an infection and it's been great until just recently. I'll keep cleaning it and if it doesn't get better I'll go back to the piercer and see what he thinks. It was done with a needle and they put it in to where I could have a hoop if I ever wanted one lol. I don't know how to describe the exact location. Thank you!

Hey there darlin.(: I've pierced for a few years now && have had my nose done for 7 years, first off, sometimes the solution they give you isn't the best, it really all depends upon the brand, so usually what I suggest is either a warm salt water solution, use a q tip & soak it then clean it, or you could use the dial anti bacterial hand soap, the orange one, scent free. It works wonders. Lastly, everybody heals a different way, which for a lot of people means infection, sometimes oddly enough no matter how hard you try some people are just prone to it but it's all part of the healing process, I have the same problem, I've had near 18 different piercings & always end up with an infection no matter how much I clean, so just keep up with it. (: good luck.! (:

You're not supposed to twirl your nose piercing, that can create a bump, it's best to move the piercing around as little as possible.

Agree with Olivia
And don't take it in and out to clean it, that will also irritant it
You can clean it just fine without taking it out

^^ agreed. Twirling it always rips the new skin that's trying to heal. Also, most nose piercings can grow back within 2 hours.

Crust and ooze is normal - the only color that signals an infection would be GREEN. Where did you get it pierced? Don't EVER get anything pierced with a gun; they can clean it with alcohol, but there's no way for them to actually sterilize it. Also, you should never get a nose piercing with a ring, only a stud - and try to never touch it for the first month. If you need to, make sure you wash your hands before and after. What are you cleaning it with? It should be with a saline wound solution. Also, the type of metal that was used makes a difference as well.

If you keep touching it, you'll create friction bump (s). If you DO get a bump, make a paste with crushed white aspirin tabs and a little bit of water and dab it on with a QTip at night before you go to bed or even if you're just sitting around at home watching TV for awhile. It will help eliminate it.
