I recently got a $50 gift card for Sephora for my birthday and was wondering what to get. I would like to try a couple of things instead of buying one $50 product. Any recommendations would be helpful. Thanks!

A lot of the Sephora brand stuff is actually really good, and at a lower price point than others. Their Teint Infusion foundation is a nice cheap addition to the recent serum trend (e.g. Perricone and Dior). But honestly, if I had 50 bucks, I'd get some kind of palette, be it eyeshadow or face, because then you get a whole bunch of bang in one package. Smashbox has two full face palettes - Shapematters. One has a brow kit, a contour kit, and 9 eyeshadows, and another has a contour kit, blushes, and a whole bunch of eyeshadows. They run $65, but at this point you're only paying $15 for a smack ton of really nice product!

Formula X nail polishes are great they're around $10-$12, the step 1 makeup forever primers come in a tiny $17 size and they're great so you could get one for your needs, the benefit they're real tease is a deluxe sample mini mascara and push-up liner that's on sale for $18 right now, and finally the bite watercolor lip gloss library is on sale for $24 dollars. I know you said under $20 but it was over half off, limited edition, and you get 12 good quality glosses.

(A single bite lip gloss usually runs from 25-30 dollars)

Thank you so much for both of your suggestions! I will definitely look at palettes and the watercolor gloss set looks stunning!

I usually look at their value sets. Some are cheaper than others, but they come with a variety of sample size products (some bigger than others) Once I find one I really like, I go out and purchase it. This way you aren't buying a ton of full sized products you don't like or won't use.

You can get a small size of the urban decay setting spray or a smashbox primer.(15-19$) also they have these sets I believe there's a lip one and mascara one where you get like 4 or 5 mini mascaras or lippies for $30 and then you get a coupon to get a full size product of your choice.
