A BB cream stands for "beauty balm" or "blemish balm," ordinarily they're enriched with additional ingredients to diminish and prevent acne. CC creams are "color correcting," and they contain ingredients to even out skin tone even when you stop wearing them. Personally, I don't have a preference since I wear neither, so I can't be much of a help on that front.
