Nail fixes besides teabag?

So I know the typical fix of a broken nail is to use some nail glue and a teabag. Now while I've done that for a while I have noticed that it sometimes doesn't last long. Are there any other nail fixes out there that you girls know of that would last a while so I don't have to cut my nails really short?  Thanks!!

I have had luck using silk patches and light-less gel from Sally's. I got the idea from this video

Awesome!! Do you find the tear repairs last longer with this method?

For me this method generally lasts longer. When I use nail glue it ends up cracking where I tore the nail. I find the light-less gel creates a stronger repair that's less likely to crack.

That's perfect! No matter how perfect I think my glue and tea bag look and feel, they always crack. Just redid them yesterday and already one nail shows the minor tear 😕. I'll deff get the wraps and light less gel. You said you use one from sallys. Is it different than the asp used in the video? Do you use the same wraps? Thanks! I'm super excited now!

I use the same Swiss silk wraps and asp gel in the video. Was able to find everything at sally's. I generally do 2-3 thin layers of gel (using the spray to set it in between layers) then buff the nail to create a smooth surface. Her tip to use an empty polish bottle filled with nailpolish remover to spread the gel works great

Your welcome. I definitely understand not wanting to have to cut your nails!

Quick question in the description box in the video she notes glue but in the video itself She doesn't put any nail glue on...

I think in other videos she mentioned using nail glue before she switched to the gel.

Sometimes if I am having difficulty getting the patch to stick in place I will use nail glue to get it to adhere then follow up with the gel to strengthen the repair

Ok. Just wanted to make sure :). I'm going to order the products in a bit! Or be less lazy and go to Sally's. We'll see which wins lol I am actually so excited for this. I have had silk wraps on all of my nails and I love the way they look but honestly they have slight damage to your nails but I was able to remove them more carefully than usual the last time I got them. But I've been looking for an at home fix and have actually eyeballed the Swiss wraps but never ordered them so now I'm really anxious!!
