I really really need to clean my makeup brushes today but I have no way of getting brush cleaner would dish soap work for a substitute? Also any tips for cleaning makeup brushes would be helpful.

I heard regular shampoo is bad for the brushes. Baby shampoo however, is much gentler and is great! I do believe people have said that dish soap works fine, but I would do some more research.

How smth so basic and harsh as dish wash can be better than a shampoo thats actually meant for hair (even those synthetic hair extensions are supposed to be washed once in a while with shampoo I think, but I've never used them so not 100% sure)? To me just doesn't seem logical. When in doubt, the gentler choice the better imo.

I use dish soap and it works out really well. It really gets rid of makeup better than any other brush shampoo I've tried, baby soap, or hair shampoo. I was worried about the dish soap drying out the bristles but it doesn't, I only had that problem with the baby soap and shampoos I've used...

Dish soap is always a better alternative for me😊I've used shampoo before & I didn't like how my brushes felt afterwards but you can also find to your liking but dish soap would good to try😊

Well I ended up trying just the dish soap with luke warm water. It works great and they're drying now.
