I like witch hazel - but right now I'm using the toner from a line that first got my skin clear and it's Alba botanica acnedote - but it has alcohol so if your skin is oily due to over dryness then I wouldn't recommend it - you can find alcohol free witch hazel toners that would work a lot better.

I personally really like the Clean and Clear one,it smells awful but it really helped clear up my acne and it's pretty cheap. c:
Typically you're supposed to use toner after you wash your face and before you moisturize,but I found that with oily skin it's actually more helpful to only seriously wash my face once a day and it has helped reduce my oils so much. (And I like washing my face at the end of the day but I don't think any particular way truly matters) Hope this helped a little! c:

I love the Melaleuca brand acne toner. It actually has tea tree in it, which is AMAZING for acne. I use it once or twice a day after I wash my face.

I have the same skin type and I'd suggest staying away from alcohol bc it can cause irritation and redness of the skin. I've been loving Thayers Rose Petal Aloe Vera Witch Hazel toner. It's A M A Z I N G C:

I use Mario Badescu's Glycolic Acid Toner. I also have oily, acne prone skin. It keeps my skin luminous and has faded my dark marks quite a bit. I've also noticed I don't have as much acne since I've started using it.

Yes you can use toner before makeup... I cleanse, use toner, moisturizer, sunblock (I live in a hot country ) then apply primer, then makeup... everyday

I agree with Madelyn, the Melaleuca brand is really good, I also use their toner, their tea tree oil is really good also...so far nothing from their line disappoint me

The best thing I've ever done for my skin is just using plain old witch hazel & pure tea tree oil, both are super cheap & will last you so much longer than if you buy a store toner. I buy cotton rounds & pour on witch hazel then put a drop or two of tea tree oil, the oil will tingle but it will feel like it's burning if you put to much so one or two drops is plenty. Use it after you wash your face.

A toner out in the market that is great for oily/blemished skin is THE BODY SHOPS "tea tree oil toner". But anything that has tea tree in it should be good as tea tree oil is an antiseptic. If you choose to use pure tea tree oil as someone suggested try diluting it into your witch hazel instead of adding a few drops on a cotton. As an esthetician I can't tell you how many times I see people who do too much to their skin.. Tea tree oil directly on the skin can be overdrying.. Although its great for spot treatment.
