keep your nails painted bright colours so when you come to bite your nails you won't want to ruin your painted nails and the brightness makes them more attractive to the eye to not ruin them :)

What helped me stop was as soon as I could I file my nails even if they are really short (I didn't want to bite them when they had a nice edge/ending), next I painted them really nicely or when I didn't have time I would use sally hansens nail polish strips (buffing your nails before application with a 4 sided buffer makes it smoother and last longer) and redid them as soon as they started chipping or showing wear because for me when my nails are ugly I start to pick and bite them. I also started applying cuticle butter/oil everyday to help with the while ragged cuticles part. I hope this helps!!

Orly and some other companies I'm sure make horrible tasting nail topcoat (that you can put on bare nails too.) I know sally's sells it so if you bite them even with polish give that a try.

Gum! Or use a cuticle and nail growth formula with green tea leaves. It's smells awful and you won't want it near your mouth.
