You can paint them no problem with that. They will look good. But if you are trying to grow them it it's better to let them breath. So use a base coat and don't paint them too often

Its a myth that nails need to breathe. its like saying your teeth need to breathe, its easier to grow your nails out if you paint them, especially if you are a biter or a picker.
