I only ever use my fingers. But if you want a tool to use instead, go with a brush. I always feel like a sponge just absorbs a bunch and wastes foundation :p

I personally use a sponge, but I'll have to try the brush if it works so well :)

I use a brush and I find that to be really good although I have not tried a sponge, but don't use fingers, it wastes make up, there is always some left on fingers, and I doubt whether you need to put foundation on your finger tips! If you use a brush, although there will be make up left on the brush, you can use much less because until you wash the brush there will be a bit of foundation on it, I find perfect for a quick cover up!

For my particular foundation formula I go with my clean fingers.
