I have dark, strawberry toned blonde hair, and I was thinking about using honey or lemon on it to lighten it a little bit. Has anyone else done this? Are the results brassy or greenish? Anyone have any good home lightening recipes? I have fairly healthy hair, I don't use much heat or product on it, so I'm not too concerned about damage. Thanks!

I used to use lemon on my hair all the time and then go sit out in the sun and over time it would lighten it beautifully. However, my hair was naturally blonde so I'm not sure how it would react on color treated hair (if your hair is color treated).

Before I used to color my hair I would use lemon juice and sit out side all day. My hair was brownish red and it would lighten it to a really pretty dark red. If your hair isn't color treated it should be fine. It just brings out your natural undertones
