It's the base of your skintone.
There's Warm (yellow) - Neutral - Cool (pink)
Mary, just by looking at your photo I can tell that you're cool toned. Your skin is more on the pink side. Have you ever noticed that some foundations are a bit too yellow or orange for your skin tone?
If you want something to compare yourself too, I'm the opposite. I'm very yellow undertoned.
A good way to practice & recognize your undertone is is by looking at the L'oreal True Match foundations. Their foundation selection is categorized by undertones. W - N - C

It's what colour your skin is, underneath all the regular skin color (white, black etc) undertones are usually pink, or yellow/olive.

A simple way to determine your undertone: If you typically sunburn, odds are you have cool/pinkish undertones. If you tan in the sun vs. burn, you are more than likely warm/yellow/golden undertoned.

Oh, man! Thank you guys so much. Good thing to know. There have been some products that were like yellowish on my skin, and I just thought I needed to go lighter. I mean, I went lighter shade wise, but it's good to know why I had to :D Thanks, guys.

I learned that if u look at your wrist and your veins look more green then you are warm if they are more blue than you are cool. Hope this helps!
