For a while I've been really into makeup and I've been expanding my makeup collection so that I can practice applying makeup. Are there any tips to help me improve myself, like with foundation, eye makeup, bronzer/highlighter and everything else. Also are there any good makeup products that you would recommend I should really try out. Thanks! 💖😘

@hailey I'm working on applying eyeshadow because sometimes I have trouble blending everything out and making everything look neat, also I'd love some tips on doing winged eyeliner! :)

First off, really get to know the different eye shapes and the colors that look good with certain skin tones, eye colors, undertones, etc. I have a chart that hopefully you can read! I then like to pick out quality eyeshadows. My favorite are Lorac, but you don't have to spend $40 to have good quality shadows! I hear Wet n' Wild has amazing shadows. To make your shadows more vibrant and last longer without creasing, get an eyeshadow primer or base. I like Lorac behind the scenes primer or Maybelline color tattoos for a base! Once you are familiar with the eyes and the colors and everything, work on blending. I like to have several different eye brushes:
• Flat shader brush- this is just to pack on eyeshadow
• Small domed brush- this is great for getting the outer v or smaller details
• Large domed brush- this is great for a nice defined crease color (works better for crease)
• Blending brush- this is a must have to make sure you have no harsh lines
Remember, you don have to have $100 brushes (unless you want too) Get familiar with application before you decide to invest in something very expensive. First, you should apply your base and pack on your lid color. Secondly, I like to work on my crease shade by taking the large dome brush and packing the color right there so you can blend it out later. Take the smaller one for the outer v and gently bring the color upward towards the crease. Once you have all the colors right where you want it, take your blending brush and blend everything by just using side to side and sometimes circular motions until everything looks flawless. You could also highlight under the brow bone and inner corner for a more open and awake look 😊 I know sometimes reading these are confusing so I would recommend watching a YouTube video to see how the people actually apply the colors and blend! That's sure what I did!!

This sounds really stupid but when I use foundation I make like 20 chins (you know when you snapchat ugly pictures) and I can easily see the harsh lines. it just helps to make sure you don't miss a spot

For winged eyeliner, I recommend using a gel. Gel is the easiest and typically the darkest to work with. All you need is an angled eyeliner brush. I start by following the natural shape of my eye and just winging it out towards my brow. Then you can worry about getting as close to the lash line as possible and perfecting that! I'm pretty good at just eying it, but not everyone can do that. If you have too, just get a piece of tape (not really good around the eyes because your skin is delicate and you don't want to tug it, but it probably won't hurt doing it a couple times until you get the hang of it!) and place it where you want the wing and just draw away! Peel the tape when you're done and you'll be left with a nice, perfect line 😊

I'm actually known for my winged liner (not trying to brag lol) but
I've been doing winged liner for 3-4 years and here is what I've learned :

first off make sure you are comfortable and your arm is well rested on something steady.
some people start off different inner corner, outer corner, wing but I personally like to start off with the wing going from the lower lash line and flick it up towards the tail of my eyebrow. (Usually a big flick since I like dramatic winged liner) after that I start going into the inner corner with short thin stokes and it sort of makes a triangle type shape so I fill that part in making sure I can't see any part of my skin.
oh and I make sure I am following my natural eye shape and once I'm done I'll thicken it up to my liking making sure the inner corner is thinner than the rest of my eye. Remember patience is key when you are first learning winged liner, be patient and try not to get frustrated. Now winged liner only takes me about one minute on each eye (:

here are my favorite eyeliners and some tips :

liquid (NYC, almay) - be patient and careful with liquid.

felt tip (smashbox) - make sure you are holding it horizontally.

gel (Tarte clay paint, inglot #77) - if you want a nice sharp wing then make sure you are using a thin precise brush, although you can use a angled also.

pencil (Loreal) - I don't recommend pencils for winged liner since you can't get any sharp wings with it but if you do make sure the pencil is always sharpened.

eyeshadow/ powder (any) - I would only use eyeshadow/ powder if you want smoked out winged liner.

Also, I hate using tape and I don't recommend it but that's just me. ☺️

I'll post a couple pictures of my winged liners.

Just search up different eye shape charts on google or something and you should be able to find something similar 😊
