I'm so scared to cut it because what if the stylist messes it up?? But it's so long, I need a cut.
I don't know what kind of cut I'm looking for, to show her pictures when I go in. I think I want it about mid-breast length and long layers, but I'm not sure!
Any pictures or suggestions?

I think your best option is to go somewhere in your town and get your hair TRIMMED. just to make it healthier, and take off some dead ends. maybe get 2-3 inches cut off.. if they are a hair stylist they should at least be able to get that right. Then, when you go out of town, you can cut your hair to your desires length

I agree with Eva! I think your long hair is very pretty! If you are worried about it getting cut too short or risk for it to be messed up, you could just get it trimmed to keep it healthy. If you do want to get it cut shorter, I think the length you want it (mid breast length) would look nice! Hope I could help :)

Like Eva said, your best option is to ask for a trim. By the way your hair is beautiful!

I used to have really long too. So when I started wanting it to be a bit shorter I started with getting it cut to where my bra strap hit on my back. Then when my hair needed to be cut again I went a little shorter each time. Btw I got long layers and it was the best decision I've ever made.

I completely understand you! I've had long hair all my life and just recently got the courage to cut it, what I suggest is to really research the place that you're considering getting your hair cut at, hair is very personal so you want to make sure it is in the right hands! For me personally I did the research and just happened to walk by the salon the next week and on impulse went in and had my hair cut to my middle back (which is a big change because it was at my knees!) and I couldn't be happier! It looked healthier and felt better, it was easier to manage and needless to say everyone in my school was shocked to see me with medium length hair because everyone knew me by my hair and eyeliner!
