I feel more confortable using a tampon, also I would take some pain killer pills to feel perfect and enjoy the party!

Yeah I would say wear a tampon... You will feel much more comfortable - otherwise what exactly is making you uncomfortable in a dress? Is it bloating or something else related to your menstrual cycle?

Well sorry if I gross you guys out but I have a very heavy menstrual cycle and that makes it so I half to use very thick pads and tampons and I'm worried that the pad will be noticed under the dress my sister suggest that I could ware bike shorts underneath but I have no idea if that would work

You could try a menstrual cup..or a tampon with a panty liner as well for backup :)

I would look into a diva cup if your flow is heavy.

I wear a very short skirt for work and struggle with the same issue of heavy flow. I use a super + tampon a thin heavy flow pad with wings, a shaping pair of black underwear and I also where black tights,(;

If you have a heavy flow, ask you gyn doctor, if you see one, about lysteda. I take it because I had heavy flow after having my tubes tied and wanted something nonhormonal because I felt better once I stopped hormones. It's seriously a life saver and at the least it won't hurt to ask. I hope your event goes well!

I agree with nicole. I feel like that would be a good option, if you don't want to wear tights spandex shorts or even just cutting the tights could work. I have a heavy flow as well, and use super tampons for occasions like that, but the worst thing to do is if you "pack" yourself too much, going to the bathroom to change the tampon (if the event is long or if you truly are very heavy flow) then it can cause more problems. Stick to things you'll be able to get off to at least somewhat easily.

I also agree for later, talk to your doctor or gyno. I started birth control at 13 because I got my period and I literally wouldn't leave the bathroom for all of it, I had a heavy flow and lots and lots of cramping so bad I would be doubled over on the floor in the fetal position crying for 5-7 days. I couldn't get to school so I started birth control, now sometimes I have a day of heavy flow every now and then, but I don't even buy anything but regular tampons now. It also helped with cramps and other symptoms, like bloating (at least a little bit) and my mood is much more stable now. But that's not going to help you immediately, just a thought for later, it changed my life lol.
Have fun at the event though, just go to the bathroom every hour or so and check to make sure that everything worked right. Make sure to stay hydrated and I'd avoid alcohol if you can, there's no good reaction to alcohol on your period lol.

Mine is pretty heavy too but only on like the 2nd n 3rd days then it's not too bad - if I'm really worried about I double a tampon and a pad - cause sometimes I can't tell when the tampon is full... Sorry if that's tmi but that's just me - if you don't want to do shorts or spanks under - maybe try some boyshort style underwear or even just granny panties (I never wear cute undies during that time or they get ruined) and then just wear like a thin panty liner and also wear a tampon and bring extra tampons in your purse and extra panty liners - that's usually what I do.

I saw there are period proof underwear on the market now. I've not tried them but they may work with a tampons combo. Otherwise maybe underwear and then spanks or bike shorts...

Usually what I would do is wear swim bottoms (I use a bikini bottom) underneath the dress
This should keep the pad in place and cover any leaks that might accidently happen
