Hello lovely ladies.
As I've been staring into the mirror I've noticed some imperfections that while they hadn't bothered me before are starting to bother me more now. My forehead gets very dry and also in the winter it becomes excessively dry, in addition to around my nose. But even with that being said, I am very oily I also tend to sweat a lot as well. And as I have made a dent in my late 20s I'm looking to take better care of my skin even though I've been blessed, for the most part. What do you ladies recommend? will something like a konjac sponge work? or should I invest in a Clarisonic or Clinique brush?

Thank you kindly! If you need some more info, let me know! :)

If your skin is dry but oily - most likely it's oily because it's dry - basically your skin is dry so it compensates for the dryness by overproducing oil - so if you try to use a brush that will probably make it worse because they act as an abrasive exfoliant and that will just dry out your skin even more - I would suggest investing in a deep moisturizing night cream and/oil like jojoba oil to allow your skin to soak up as much moisture as possible at night so when you wake up it isn't dry or too oily - I found this helps me tremendously and I have oily/combo skin with dry patches from psoriasis and they get worse in the winter but jojoba oil has really saved my skin from looking like a red hot mess (literally)

Gentle exfoliation should help, because it helps to get rid of dead skin cells. I would try to do regular masks to purify and refine the skin (something with fruit enzymes, like pumpkin or papaya), and I would definitely switch to a face oil. Just a couple of drops of oil patted on damp skin should "lock in" the moisture and prevent dryness. Since you tend to get oily, you should try Argan oil, which has balancing properties (prevents the skin from over-producing oil). Also, make sure to use a very gentle cleanser (no foaming).

For your skin condition, I suggest you use a facial toner. Maxatone is a facial toner that will your dry as well as oily skin. It will remove excess of oil from the face while keeping your skin hydrated all day long. It doesn't contain any harsh ingredients that will damage your skin. It gives you a healthy and young look keeping you fresh all day long. It is suitable for your skin. It is a Solvaderm skin care product and will surely work for you.

I agree with Diana. Your skin is dehydrated so it produces more oil in areas to try and keep the skin supple and healthy.

1. Use a gentle exfoliater, I like to use these loofah pads for the face and they work well.

2. Use a good moisturizer that actually helps to moisturizer your skin.
I use retinal, I'm normally oily. The prescription retinal made my skin peep and became a dry mess. I used TONS of different moisturizers but CeraVe was the ONLY one that helped. I use their moisturizing cream, there's a ton for the price. The ceramides really make a difference and I don't have to use much, it also doesn't feel greasy or heavy I just actually feel moisturized

Diana thank you so much! Do you think seaberry oil would work (I currently have it)? What moisturizer do you recc?

Lilly, do you recc any specific exfoliate? I try to do an Aztec clay mask 2x month. Is that good?

Emily, thank you so much! I'll look into that for sure!

I'm not sure I never heard of that oil being used for the face - you can try it out and spot test first to see if it works out - but jojoba oil mimics the skins natural oil the best out of all the oils out there so I recommend that - in terms of a night moisturizer - I like the yes to carrots night cream - it feels so luxurious on my face at night
