This is my natural lip shape at times I get confused should I overdraw my upper lip or not as lower one is bigger? And sadly yes...I've got melasma on my upper lip. so anybody going through same situation? how do you hide or treat melasma?

I think your lips look great! You don't need to do anything to them at all :)

You already have a good shape there's no need to overdraw. Overdrawing looks awful in my opinion and you already have the shape that those people strive for

I also have a dark upper lip, although I don't think it's melasma. I just learnt to accept it...

Thankyou everybody..Nathalie you don't think its melasma, why so? I haven't gone to the Doctor but felt its melasma.

Your lips look perfect...I wouldn't over draw at all...as for what I think Nathalie sent was she didn't think what she has on her lip is melasma not saying that you don't...if your worried about that I'd seek a docs advice if you haven't already and let them know your concerns and see what they can do or give in regards to it.

Mine is hair growing under the skin leaving a greenish cast to my skin. Yours looks more brown so it could be melasma?

For the melasma, have you ever tried a color corrector under concealer or a full coverage foundation? if you haven't heard of them, they are concealers colored differently than natural skin tones and meant for neutralizing colors. for a yellow or orangey discoloration a purple one would work (for redness you use green, for purple you use yellow, and for blue you use orange or salmon). with color correctors you want to choose an intensity that compliments your skin. so if you are pale you want pastel colors and if you are dark you want deep colors. oh and you always apply the corrector under concealer or foundation to blend, not over. as far as treatment, my sister has melasma on her forehead and cheek and she really can't do much for it except stay out of the sun and hydrate. tea tree oil, lemon juice, and honey are all supposed to be good for evening skin tone.

for the lip shape, it really is a myth that they have to be or are supposed to be perfectly even. few people have even sized lips naturally and many beauty ideals from history (not that they are concrete definitions of beauty) actually point towards a slightly fuller bottom lip as being more desirable. there's certainly nothing wrong with overdrawing them (a small amount) if you are happier with that look on you, but in my personal opinion they are envy worthy as they are. =)

Thanka Aleena for the suggestion and I wish to treat melasma completely rather than hiding with makeup. :)
