So yesterday my Chi broke! I have had it for about two years now, it was the holiday edition. I straighten my hair nearly every day, so a two year run doesn't see that bad.. However the price tag makes it seem like it should last longer. I'm looking for something new. I usually look towards the high end market but the only thing I have ever purchased were Chi. I am not opposed to low-end straighteners, either. I just want to know what you all truly believe is to be the best straightener. & for your money! By that I mean, not $150 and breaking a year later.

Also, my hair is thick. It takes quite a bit of heat to get it the way I like.

GHD Straighters are very very good. If you have thick hair it's best to get the wider plated ones. also, the original ones are the best to get :)

I just got the Ghd straightener a couple days ago, I like how it heats up quickly, but it has a bit of trouble straightening my thick hair. But with a little work it does a great job.

Remington is what I use and I have VERY curly, thick, coarse hair! Others have told me CHI or GHD!
