Hello ladies! So long story short, my broke self just came into some money, and it's burning a hole in my pocket so I think it's tattoo time! I've been wanting to get the phrase "five by five" for a while now. It's an old radio term that was later adopted by the military, essentially meaning "loud and clear." But over the years it's meaning evolved to mean "I'm okay" or "everything's alright." It was also featured heavily by the character Faith Lehane on the Buffy the Vampire Slayer, which is where I first heard it.

Anyway, I love the current meaning of it, and I think it's history is fascinating, how language and terminology changes over time. I want to pay homage to it in the best way possible, which brings me to my question - Should I get it as "Five by Five" or "5x5"? I feel like the latter would be further adapting the phrase, which I kind of like. But then I think maybe I should keep it in it's traditional form. I just keep going back and forth, I feel like I'll never get the dang thing! And, for an obvious but kinda silly reason, I want to get it while I'm still 25 lol and I won't be for much longer. Helllllppppp. Also, if it helps, if I go with "5x5" I would put it behind my ear, and I would put "five by five" on my ribs. I would lovelovelove some opinions!! Thank you!
