This dress is beautiful, and you shouldn't worry about what other people think. If you like it, you wear it! This dress could be for a wedding, maybe... I think it might be a little to flirty for a wedding dress, and for the color, you could wear a colorful hair piece, or even a light color of heels! This dress is beautiful for prom, and if you feel confident to wear it, DO!
