I do that but I find that after a while the make up just dries and starts to flake around each pimple!

Use a primer and don't over do it with the concealer, remember that you can get rid of the discoloration but the texture or bump will always be there! If you put to much concealer it will cake it up and make the bump stand out more

I've always heard not to set your concealer with powder as it dries and gets cakey much quicker, though I'm not 100% sure.

Moisturize, prime, conceal, powder. Make sure your moisturizer is oil free and you're primer is good for acne skin. If you're using a salyclic acid treatment right now, make sure you give time for your moisturizer and primer to set in so that you know what areas to focus on. Also, if you're using an acne treatment, don't over powder as it will be the reason your makeup looks cakey and flakes. Too much powder on an already super mattified canvas doesn't do justice for anyone.

I ALWAYS use maybelline's instant age rewind concealer. the one with the round sponge on top. it blends into the skin and gives high coverage aswell!
