Is baking soda safe or OK to use as a cleanser?

So I used baking soda on my face yesterday just to give it a try, I noticed that my face looks clearer but is it really ok to use it on the face??

I've used it occasionally. I have heard that paula from beauty pedia cosmetic cop says its to alkalaine "sp" the skin ph is more acid. If you do use it I'd follow it with apple cider vinger as toner or another toner that has the proper skin's ph. I had great akin till 18...then major breakouts a clairsonic and less is more approach with products helped majorly.

I use it as an occasional face mask when I have problem skin.
