I really don't want to offend anyone with this topic BUT I can't understand why people from Mac are so arrogant, stupid,so blasé all the time.Off course there are exceptions, unfortunately, so few...I was so disappointed with a girl in Mac of Galerie Lafayette (Paris,FR) last friday... a horse could be more sweet than her. Please MAC, if you want to be recognized like a brand of good products and awfull staff, congratulations! You are already done it!

You can't judge a company by one person, where I work there's one person that's rude and quite honestly, dumb as a brick, but all of us get yelled at by people because she was rude to them when everyone else there is actually really nice. You're going to find terrible people everywhere, no matter what, it's just the nature of people and judging an entire company so harshly for hiring one of the millions of horrible people on earth is a bit wrong. If you want to complain about something, complain about the individual person. Maybe she played nice in the interview to get the job, you never know.

And where you have one awful person there is bound to be more so if you've had more than one bad experience, chances are you just keep running into the people that don't care, it's unlucky, but it makes sense.

I was mistrated in Brazil,France and Spain..only in Mac.. so it's not me... and as I sad in my post: don't want to offend anyone...but it's not a coincidence! Several girls complain about that..going to buy with Eloy G... where does he work?

^ Totally agree with Ali - I hate generalizing! Oh that one foreign guy was a terrorist, they all must be! Oh that one guy with long hair was a satanist, they all must be! One girl was mean to me, they all must be!...I just don't get it.

I have been to several MAC stores in New York and New Jersey and I have experienced rude staff members to me as well. That is why I dont shop at MAC often. How would you feel if you are ready to spend $100 on products that your so happy to go buy but when you get there you are treated very rudely? I rather spend my money elsewhere.

I go to mac all the time and 90% of the time the people working are so rude and act like I'm below them or going to steal something now does this mean they are all rude no way I've been helped a few times by extremely sweet people but most times I'm treated very rude and dread going to mac now :( I've never ran into anyone rude at ulta and sephora I've ran into a few rude people it happens every where but I do get it from mac more often :( sad day id love to get hired there someday tho I love the product :) lol

This has happened to me at other places too not just Mac...I just tell them "I don't appreciate your negativity so I'll wait until one of your coworkers are free so that I can shop with someone who likes their customers"

I live in NYC and for years I had to deal with Mac's horrible customer service. It's wasn't just one store it was several. I don't know if they judged me because I didn't have a face full of makeup on or something else. But recently things have changed. The people I've been dealing with have been so sweet and I appreciate that because then they get more out of me (money wise).

I have had the same experience several times with Mac and I'm in aus, I've been matched completely wrong in foundation colour and had to give it away, and my grandmother got matched for a Mac foundation in Las Vegas and it was for a dark skinned person and she is a very pasty white! The lady matched to her hand where there are age spots, she came home and tried and was so disappointed, we have not found anyone who can wear it so that money was wasted, I love Mac and I have one girl that I go to in Perth now and I will only shop from her. If she is not there I will not buy. I have had too many bad experiences to count with Mac. I am not generalizing but I agree, with the experiences I have had at Mac myself, I have only had one goo experience!

I COMPLETELY know what you mean! And it's not just in mac, I've experienced it at Ulta the most, and sephora unfortunately too :( I went to Ulta one day and every five minutes was bombarded with girls asking if I needed help, so I finally gave it and asked them to recommend a product, she then said she didn't know anything about it, and I asked about something else, she answered the same thing but more rude that she didn't know anything about that from personal experience either- and I just stood there completely shocked that she couldn't recommend a good pair of false eyelashes, or self tanner? So I snapped and asked her what she did know about since she was so persistant on following me around the store asking me if she could help- and when I finally wanted it, she didn't know and was rude??! What really bothered me was that she wasn't a young teenager with just a snotty attitude, she was part of management and was at least in her mid fourties...That being said, I really don't get why they are so rude especially in the service industry now, because if I personally had a job working with cosmetics and got to help people all day with make up and hair products, I would LOVE my job, and I sure as hell wouldn't be rude to anyone like that! So I empathize with what you mean & your experience, and it really sucks that good brands like that don't have pleasant/helpful/knowledgable employees (for the most part)... Just sayin'

As much as I am a MAC girl the customer service has been less than perfect. As a woman of color with deep skin I have to learn to match my own foundation because I have been mess over so many times.

Oh my. I'm so sorry! The people who I have spoke to have been.so good to me. I hope I never have to deal with someone who ate cherrios with piss in it. Thats not cool that you had to go thru that.

Could have just been the store you went to.

I live in Georgia and I have dealt with at least 4 separate MAC employee's and they all seemed disinterested slightly rude, and just like they didn't care and I mean this has been multiple times I have been. I get everyone has a bad day or hates there job or is bored but every time I've gone it's a bit much and the other counters in the store Lancôme and Estée Lauder and the Clinique counter they've never been like that to me, now this is only at this store I went to one in Alabama and they were very nice.

The staff in the mac store in dublin were ignorant out. it was my first and only time in the shop and I was standing there for 45 minutes tryin to get the attention of staff to ask questions about what products would be best for me before I purchased them and nobody came over to assist me. I even asked 2 staff walking past me for assistance but they ignored me and kept walking. after 45 minutes I was so fed up of waiting and being ignored that I just left and went to the urban decay counter in debenhams and spent €200 there instead. have never bought mac products and never will after that experience

I've never had a good experience at a MAC. A lot of the girls there are always so angry, rude & stuck up. I hate going there.

I've never had a problem. Everyone has always been really sweet to me.

At this point I would rather just purchase my makeup online where I dont have to be treated rudely whether at MAC (which is where it mostly happens), or sephora where the employees there are busy doing their face instead of helping customers, or at ulta where yes; no one seems to know what their doing but arent as rude as MAC employees. At the end of the day I rather spend my money at RideAid on Wet and Wild items, Loreal, and/or Maybelline than to spend my hard earned money with a bunch of snobs.

Oh wow.. Sorry to hear the bad experiences. I've been to mac many times and no one has ever been rude to me. I have always gotten good service. And I come out of there happy. I think that it's also the way you respond at the rudeness maybe. I always say kill Em with kindness and I bet they will feel extremely stupid.

I have a friend who works for MAC and she is not mean, rude or ignorant and I'm not saying that because I know her. I've had good and bad experiences at MAC and I just don't choose those people who weren't very nice to service me again. I've had bad service at banks, restaurants and other stores. When someone is rude, I request the manager and tell them about the service I experienced. Rude and ignorant employees are everywhere.

I don't think it's the way people respond, I worked in retail for a long time and I understand sometimes after a long day and the occasional rude customer you get fed up, but under no circumstances would I ever be rude to the customer/client! I understand that some stores may have amazing girls/guys that work there but as I said I am not generalizing but every experience bar 1 that I have had have been negative, and even still if the customer is rude to you that doesn't matter you still respond kindly calmly and if you have to say ' I will get my manager for you ' and leave it at that,
