What is an eye crayon??

So I got this makeup kit for christmas with mascara, lipstick, lippencil, eye shaddow. Well lots of makeup. But I still havent figured out what is an eye crayon used for... Help?

Its a creamy stick for eyeshadow. You can wear it as a shadow or liner. I dont use them because their creamy and crease during the day. Although you can.put on an eyeshadow primer and it won't smudge. Hope this helps.
