Wait until they are fully dry, then apply a matte topcoat to keep from smearing, then apply a shiny topcoat, if you like. I find if I go over a design more than once it smears.

It always helps me when I put a lot of the polish on the brush when I apply the topcoat and try to do the least amount of strokes.

I just make sure there is lots of product on the polish brush, go quickly and keep the brush strokes light
