I originally wanted ombré hair, but since it's going out of style I was wondering if there's an alternative. I would like something that is a neutral colour. I have black hair that's about 4 inches below my shoulders and brown skin. Any suggestions for a neutral hair colouring technique??

Btw I would get it done at a salon, if that makes a difference to your suggestions.

If you like the ombré look but worried its going out of style try a few peek a boos of light brown or red or highlights , highlights seem to never go out of style :)

It's not "out" , it's just been around for some time. If you like that look , opt for a more melted version (subtle) that's where a lot of the ombres from past sessions have gone. Also look into a dip dye.

I'm not sure about dip dye…I want the colour I choose to be a natural hair colour ad I want t I be subtle and integrated into my hair. I don't want a chunk of blue or pink or purple or something.

Dip die with neutral colors.

Wouldn't that basically be ombré then?

No dip dye is more of a dramatic colour change, whereas ombré kinda blends :) xxx

Well, if you like the gradual change and you have dark hair you can go into a light brown. Or you can go to a darker brown.

My hair is black so I was thinking lighter

What if you did a brown reverse ombré? Darker at the top which fades to light.. I've seen a couple people with it and it actually looks nice!
