But any ideas on a good regimen, what shampoos? Conditioners?

The best thing to do is keep the heat out as much as you can and stretch your relaxers. also keep your new growth and ends moisturizer that way you will retail growth and minimize breakage. also look for sulfate free shampoo and products with NO MINERAL OIL. try some natural oils like coconut, almond and olive. if your looking for beauty supply store products organic root stimulator has some good stuff ( the hair mayo is a must but) also cream of natures argan oil line is good. drink plenty of water and eat a lot of green veggies and increase your garlic and Onion intake (sulfur grows hair from the inside). my sisters hair is long and relaxed and one if her secrets is half wigs they look so natural and your hair can just grow in peace. wigs, weaves and roller sets should become your bff just hide that flat iron I know its hard.Good luck girl!!

Thank you so much I'm trying to stay away from the flat iron it is hard I use to flat iron everyday 3 years ago now I got it down to once a month, it's still hard to do it that way because when I blow dry on cool it's supper puffy (very hard to do it) :( which is why it's hard to stray away from the flat iron.

Get a hooded dryer sometimes you can get one on sale at Sally's beauty for $25. and do a roller set or a duby wrap. a hooded dryer is a lot less damaging and rollers will help keep hair smooth. or have you tried Bantu knot outs I think style is really good on relaxed hair you get a really cute trendy beach look with no heat or damage. braids have made a comeback and are cute plus your hair will thrive.
