You have to over process your hair to get the right shade of silver but its very pretty gd luck ps don't do it urself, spend the extra money to save on time and the correct look.

Your best bet is to go slowly or else you'll fry your hair. You want to take your hair to the palest yellow and then use a purple toner on it.

Go to the hair dressers and get it stripped and dyed to a gingery blonde and then wait for a few weeks and bleach it yourself or if you don't mind spending money get it done at the hairdressers and keep waiting a few weeks and bleach it again. When you get to a yellow blonde then use a silver toner and if you live in the UK you can get touch of silver toner from sainsburys and keep toning it :) this is what I did when I went from brown to silver x

First, you're going to have to lighten it. Don't use buy any kind of haircoloring products from a drug store. Go to some place like Sally's that will sell professional products to the public. And from Sally's I would recommend L'Oreal quick blue lightener, you'll probably need 30 or 40 volume developer, and you should definitely ask someone who works there for help, but you will need something called a " toner" which is actually made to cancel out unwanted red or orange tones but if you over tone the hair it will turn light silver/light grey. This would be a permanent option. However, if you don't want to go through the trouble of finding a toner that will do this for you(or no one at your local Sally's has a cosmetology license and can help you find it) just get a silver temporary color such as manic panic, etc.

Bleach and toner black and toner. use proper care when doing this and take it easy. good luck.

I meant to say bleach again not black, lol

You have to bleach it like never before, all colour has to be out, then use a purple shampoo to keep it from being yellow and then Schwarzkopf's silver blonde is very good I use that for my hair and are really satisfied! But bleeach is the key, I went from dark red and had to use about 5 bleaches, your hair is totally dead after but after a lot if hair treat and a visit to the hairdresser it's pretty good again and the colour is totally with it =D.

I did it once befor listen hunni color your hair tell it turns "blond" I guess you going to dy it twice then use "white" silver dye tc it won't last for more than 2 months then you going to re-dye and don't re-dye them cuz you going to damage your hair I did it myself good luck ;)

I actually have a video I made about toning your hair to silver. I would only recommend getting your hair bleached at a salon though. I've had white/silver/violet hair on and off for 12 years and I ONLY get my hair bleached by professionals, but I do the actual color myself.

Here's my video on toning your hair: http://www.beautylish.com/v/yxqzgm/silverplatinumpastel-violet-hair

-First you have to bleach your hair extremely light, down to a white.
I recommend ONLY doing this at a salon, by a professional. I always ask for the salon owners or those who have worked most with bleach and "crazy" hair colors.

-The salon will put a toner on your hair (for an additional cost, I believe) and it will be violet based in order to make the bleached hair super white and eliminate any yellowy or brassy tones.

-To make hair a silvery violet color, I use Clairol Shimmer Lights shampoo and conditioner. The directions advise blondes (or those with grey hair) to only use this once a week to keep brassy tones out of the hair, otherwise it will turn purple-So that is why I use it every time I wash my hair. I wash my hair with it every time wash my hair and I let both the shampoo and conditioner sit in my hair for about 5 minutes each.

-I also use Wella T18 Ultra Pale Blonde toner mixed with 20 volume developer with some Wella 050 Violet color additive on my hair (at home) about every 10-14 days. I leave it on for a minimum of 45-60 minutes, but sometimes more! This keeps it pretty silvery/grey

-Sometimes after I wash my hair (but while it is still wet), I use Roux Fanci-Full Temporary Color Rinse in White Minx or Ultra White Minx (it doesn't really make a difference to me). It gives it more of a silver look than violet.
