Does mineral oil have any negative affects on your skin? I have been using ponds cold cream that contains mineral oil and I hope I'm not doing more harm than good.

Mineral oil is a byproduct of distilled petrol/gasoline. It is in a lot of products like baby oil and Vaseline. It has a barrier affect, hence it doesn't let the skin breathe and clogs the pores. I don't know about you, but I'm not too keen on putting a byproduct of petrol on my face.
