So, I'm 24 out of college. I have never been really into fashion. I only really started wearing makeup last year. I'm probably what everyone would call a reclusive gamer girl with few friends and an awesome boyfriend. But I want to get into more clothes! More colors. Things that are comfortable but have a little bit of a fashion flare. Never really had a style unless tee and jeans is a style. I'm not huge on flashy. Are there any not so expensive clothes that could reflect good fashion sense but could be used to create my own style? And store ideas that have cute unique clothes but won't break the bank?

Ooo! Thanks. I like some of Wet Seal. :/ the forever 21 in the mall near me makes me feel awkward. I don't know. I feel judged every time I go there but I'll suck it up I guess. I've heard of Platos closet I just haven't got a clue where one is near me.

Platos closet is amazing!! :D just do a search for one near you. I myself am a pretty hard core gamer... Hard to tell I know but I've always been into dresses and heels. And yet, forever 21 still makes me feel weird but I did work their and the people sucked.. :/ go with a friend or two for back up and don't pay attention to the people their. Sadly, forever 21 would be about the cheapest. Good luck on your fashion adventure! :)

Thrift stores are great for unique styles for cheap as long as you're willing to spend some time browsing through the duds. Forever 21 is good for trendy, cheap pieces and the selection is so large you're bound to find something you like. Do you enjoy online shopping!

I always like thrift shopping, even though it can be hit or miss it's by far the cheapest.. there's such a wide variety of clothes too! @Michelle, my sister worked at f21 and had the same experience :(

I do like online shopping but I'm just so picky that I have to see it first if its not a graphic tee. I also have the bad habit on sitting too long on something that it takes me too long to decide to buy it. If I don't love it it'll just sit in my dresser. I have to know for sure that I'll wear it,

I also just recently got into sun dressed but sadly that's a seasonal thing. Love just hanging around in a nice sun dress with a pair of flip flops.

I've never really tried thrift shopping. Need to find a nice shop around me. Unfortunately the area around me is kinda sketchy and I don't think some of the stores takes care of the clothes.

Online shopping is good if you've been to the store and know how the sizes fit you and even then you can be wrong. I have two things that I still need to take back after ordering online. Always try it on to really know if you are going to love it, especially if its a different style then you are used to. :)

The quality of thrift shops does depend a lot on the area, which sucks. I quite like h&m, though they are more expensive than forever 21 or wet seal. Zara is pretty expensive for what it is, but their sales are great.

Urban outfitters is another good starting point. Honestly their regular merchandise is overpriced but all uo stores I've been at always have a sale section and I've scored some awesome deals there. Although I barely shop there anymore they did help my fledgling closet a lot years ago. Hope these tips have helped in some way. Happy shopping!

I love outlets! You can find some real gems there as long as you're willing to spend some time sifting through the racks. Sorry if my recommendations aren't easily accessible to you... I live in manhattan so I'm quite ignorant of what's normal in most of America

Lol. I'm on Long Island. I love manhattan, but I've never done much clothes shopping there. Mostly go to the bead shops on 6th ave or 6th st. Can't remember.

If you live in Long Island you must come here to shop! Downtown (especially the east village and lower east side) is the absolute best for thrift shops, and soho and union square are great for chains like forever 21, h&m and Zara. And of course there's 5th ave, but for the most part it's pricey as hell. I live in the les and barely ever venture uptown to shop since I'm surrounded by unique fashion. You should consider spending a weekend here just exploring the city's shopping. I'd gladly give you a shopping route to go on :D.
