So I got my salary and I am in dilemma what to buy. Spring is coming and I need some new clothes because I havent buy anything for myself since I finished course for MUA, and makeup is now my addiction and I always need to buy some new eyeshadows and etc. I also need camera to take pictures of my work SO I don't know which investment is the best for now..help me to decide.

I do this with every paycheck. Prioritize. What do you in all honesty need the most? I'm not sure where you live but here in NY spring isn't even remotely showing itself but spring clothes would be just sitting in the drawer for now. Make up isn't really a necessity if you already have a decent collection. You did say you need a camera to take pictures of your work? What type of work? Is this going to help your career? Do you need it for a portfolio?

I need to take pictures of makeup that I do, And I also do some braids. I think it will help me a lot because I haven't post any new pictures of my work in a while. So thats priority. wow. this questions helped me for real. I live in Serbia and our paychecks are so low. I am student and I have 2 jobs..Doing makeup was like hoby for me at first and I really wish that some day I have career as makeup artist :)

Go for the camera and maybe one or two things to build up your kit. I always think I need more clothes when I probably don't.

I'd go for the camera. As you said, it'll help you showcase your work and you can begin building a portfolio which is absolutely essential for a makeup artist. Sure, makeup and clothes are always nice to have but the camera will help you get the makeup and clothes in the long run.

Here's my question...do you hVe enough to buy a really good camera? If not, will the true beauty of the makeup accurately show? Maybe finding a friend who has a nice camera and knows how to use it, and wants the credit for photography experience, would be a better option? Then I would buy a cute dress and spend the rest on makeup.

I want to tell you to buy clothes since that is what I would do... but I think investing in a camera is a really great idea! Unless you do have a friend with a nice camera like Bree B suggested!
