I bleached a few strands of my hair about a year or two ago. in august of 2012 it was to my chin. my hair is barely to my collarbone ( below my neck a bit) &it hasnt grown &its been 7 months since I havent last cut or trimmed. should I cut my hair somit can grow faster? is the bleach strands the ones to blame? my bf says its fine&to not worry. any opinions please I just want my hair to be longer &grow already )':

I had the same problem when I cut my hair a lil over a year ago.I've been trying to grow mine out too.I've tried to avoid trimming and cutting and my mother in law gave me some biotin vitamins that are supposed to help with hair and nail health and it seems to have helped me a little bit.you're supposed to take a couple a day but I forgot often.so it'll probably work better if you can remember to take them.cutting it won't make it grow faster that's just a myth.

Mmm would it be best to maybe cut my hair then take the biotin pills? it would be like starting fresh.

If it's only a small amount of hair, the bleach isn't to blame. Normally people with drier hair types tend to have a problem with it growing. Unless there's noticeable dry ends, I wouldn't cut it. The Boitin vitamins should help, along with keeping your hair very conditioned.

Don't cut. Although it is a popular myth that cutting the end allows your hair to grow faster it doesn't. It only makes it look prettier and cleaner since the ends are no loner split and dry. You don't need to work from the ends that does nothing, you want to work from the roots. That is where the hair follicles are, therefore that is where new hair growth occurs.
I would suggest using Mane N Tail Shampoo and conditioner. This is intended to grow hair and make it thicker and shinnier. This shampoo and conditioner is intended to grow the mane of animals, but is also safe for human use. I had the same problem as you last year,my hair was dry, brittle and it wouldnt grow. I used this shampoo every time I showered and in three months my hair grew nearly four inches! Now my hair is long, thick and shiny! Definitely give it a try. Sally's Beauty and Wal Mart both carries this shampoo! (Biotin vitamins are a damn god send also)
