@Magdalena Liquid eyeliner works best for my upper lid and I use pencil for my waterline (: hope this helped.

I usually do liquid on the top unless I'm doing a smokey eye. If I do a smokey eye ill use pencil so I can smudge it. On the bottom I use pencil and then also black eye shadow because it helps it stay on a bit better.

I always wore Gel eyeliner and when I ran out I used liwuid and pencil/ kohl on the waterline

I wear pencil and I take black eyeshadow with a thin brush and use that for the top and use the pencil for my waterline.

Neither I like gel! It's really taken place of both for me. I think gel is easier to use for winged liner, and it's awesome for in the waterline! Paired with some matte black shadow to smudge... I have found it also outlast both as well!

Neither get macs eyeshadow PRINT and bareminerals (or bareesentuals) angle brush. You can ask ten how to put it on.

I say liquid because it stays on more then pencil and when you have pencil it can smuge and make you look like a raccoon its happened be before...
