Mine sometimes gets that way within the next day -____- Usually after I comb it out I tie it up in a peacock bun or something and don't take it down until I'm going out, whether it be the next day or after a few hours.

When I say after I comb it out I mean after I shower and comb it, its usually not soaking but its still pretty damp at that point :)

Honestly the worst thing to do is wash your hair everyday, although I'm guilty of it lol. it strips out the natural oils. I personally wouldn't use natural shampoos, they would make my hair more greasy. also I find conditioner makes my hair greasy. invest in some baby powder and if you notice it get greasy just put a very small amount of baby powder to the roots of your hair. blend it in so you can't notice it. it helps for a few hours. but I would recommend going to a salon and ask what you can do to prevent your hair from getting really greasy.

I've noticed if you touch your hair a lot through out the day your hair gets greasy because of the oils in your fingers. So if you do play with your hair a lot maybe that's the reason why

Don't wash it everyday. That's what makes it so greasy. Try to stop and start washing it every other day. It will be gross at first but it'll help. You can also try switching to a sulfate free shampoo which won't be as harsh on your hair, and once your hair gets used to it it won't produce as much oil. I would also suggest to invest in a dry shampoo, cheap or not. Hope this helps!

Dry shampoo, baby powder, or just a talc powder. They will absorb the oils on the surface of your hair and scalp. After a couple of months of not shampooing everyday you will notice it gets less greasy.

What works for me is not conditioning the top part of my hair, that also brings volume to your hair, and baby powder works really good with greesy hair and it also lifts the root a tad. (:

Try to only wash it when you're going out, If you're going to be home for a few days just leave it greasy. The more you wash it the more oil it produces. If you're going out I'd suggest dry shampoo the second day! And make sure you're not using much moisturizing products. Another suggestion would be to shampoo twice and condition only the middle-bottom of your hair, and when combing it out use a wide tooth comb instead of a brush. And lastly don't sleep with it wet! Hope that helps :)

I don't know about preventing it, but I use Bed Head Sugar Dust and it's pretty amazing for those of us with oily scalps. It's easy to use-throw it on your roots and go, and doesn't alter your color in any way.

Dry shampoo, or try to condition your hair before you shampoo it! if you want, you can just condition from about 3 inches of root down. or, try dying it ONCE of your natural color/something so similar it can grow out and it helps with oils, but is pretty damaging to the tips and all around the hair.

Don't touch your hair a lot throughout the day and put baby powder in it, it absorbs a lot of the oil!

If you have white pillow cases put a small amount of talc on them when you go to sleep. It helps soak up all the oil and then if you still have white bits in it when you wake up just brush it out! I've never done it myself but my friends do and say it works wonders! X.

Don't wash your hair everyday, that makes it more oily especially if you massage your scalp a lot when you wash it. Baby powder does work, but if you have dark hair be careful because it can stick to your hair afterward making it look grey or off colored in some other way. Dry shampoo works good, but it can leave a build up type feel.

My hair used to be really greasy the second day and I had to wash it everyday too. Then I started to not put conditioner on my roots, only like ears down, and it has totally changed my hair! And I can even use dry shampoo for 3rd day hair.
