Besides the obvious Internet tools (like this app!) and all of the amazing tips and tutorials out there, here are some things I recommend.
Virtual makeover - this technology has been around for years, and it really works. Try ivillage's version. Take a good picture that accurately represents your skin tone. Really try to be objective in finding the best possible hair and makeup colours for you. You can try on actual makeup that you can buy in stores, and even celebrity's hair.
Implement the changes from your makeover! Once you have the perfect hair and makeup colours to best compliment your skin, take a snapshot, and use this when shopping for clothes online as a reference to see which colours look best on you, and which ones do nothing for you.
I also love buying glasses online. In Canada clearlycontacts will give your first pair for free! And just like the virtual makeover, virtually trying on the frames by uploading your picture is surprisingly accurate!
