How do you decide on a lip color for the day?

Thanks everyone :) the consensus seems to be to complement the eyeshadow/outfit. I will definitely be putting more thought into my choice :)

It depends on what clothes you are wearing and your eye makeup. If your eye makeup is subtle or neutral, use a bright color such as pink, red, purple, etc. if you have a dramatic eye look, go for a nuetral lip color - nude, peach, etc.
