Trying to lighten black bair?!

So my hair is jet black, I tried to lighten it last night with colour b4 and a lightening dye as my natural hair colour is a chestnut brown I want it to be this color by summer. Some parts of my hair has lightened but can anybody give me some tips to naturally/quickly lighten the black bits?

Vitamin C powder, Clairifying Shampoo, and a bit of dishwashing liquid (prefered Dawn) and let it sit in your hair for an hour. Make sure your hair is damp first before applying. It should lighten it up.

I'm having the same problem lol my natural hair colour is a real light brown almost blond as my regrowth starts growing out I just dye it a slightly lighter colour everytime its gone from jet black to a dark brown atm.
