Hi all, posted this on my Tumblr but haven't had a response so thought I'd try here.

I want to buy OCC’s concealer (mainly for my blue/purple dark circles that ruin my life) and am not sure what shade (s) I should go for seeing as they have red and yellow based ones.

I don’t mind buying one from each colour family because I’d use them for small spots and redness every so often too.

I went to a Bobbi Brown counter last year and was told that you should have a correcter shade and then an actual concealer and to use both on the eye area (he showed me the technique), would you agree with this?

For reference the foundation matches that seem to work on me are MUFE HD foundation in #115, Shiseido Sun Protection foundation in SP10 and Bourjois Healthy Mix in #52.

Different coloured concealers have different purposes. If you're wanting a concealer for purple eyebags, go for an orange-yellow concealer. For small spots that are red, use a green concealer and dab a lighter colour under the bump so it appears there's no shadow under the bumps.

I would say yes and no, dependeng on what you want to accomplish...
For instance if you want to make those purple/blue undertoneson go away, a peachy color corrector is really good, obviously the pigmentation of the corrector is going to be decided by your skin tone, the lighter the skin, the less saturation of pigment, but if you got darker skin an orange would do the trick, this has to be made in a light way though, because yes, as explained by the bobbi brown makeup artist, you need to put a concealer that matches your foundation so the orange/peach corrector cancel out the purple/blue undertones of the under eye area, remember to pad with your fingers and not rubbing and smudgging the two products together...
you want to try to over lap the products and then set them with a light powder.
then if you want to highlight the area you would do it with either a lighter concealer one shade lighter than your foundation, or opt for a brightener like YSL touche eclat or something like that, rember that anything lighter will reflect some light even if is matte.
Now that I have said that, on any other little areas that you want to cove like a blemish, is preferred to use a concealer that is thicker and on the same shade that your foundation.
