Well, being military I understand why they want uniformity amongst the staff. I understand your pain though. :( I had a job years ago that dictated everything right down to nail color (just like the military). Hair too...it was such a royal pain. Friday I would remove my neutral nails but by Sunday night I had to remove whatever unauthorized color I had on to wear that ugly neutral...and we were required to wear nail polish at all times. I hated that job.

I had really light brown hair, almost blonde (not my natural colour) going to a job interview. Was asked to colour it dark. Was given the job on the account that I was going to dye it back to my natural colour. The crappy thing about that was I paid good money at a salon to lighten my hair! In rebellion, I colored my hair dark purple (my natural hair is black). And during the time I was working there, I was going to a rock concert, I tinted my hair green. Suck it, prudes!

I was army so I know exactly what you mean. now I work with adults with prader-willi syndrome and mild to moderate retardation. needless to say the job doesn't require you to look your best at all times. most of the time it's pony tails and sweats because we're a hands on facility.

It's nice to know you guys understand... Military life can be so boring sometimes especially when I want bright nails, bright hair, and purple glitter eyeliner lol. I understand uniformity.. It just gets me down sometimes. When I'm out and about seeing girls with fun colored hair makes me so jealous lol. Sometimes I wish my enlistment was up
