Anyone able to help me out? When I do my eyes I usually just use eyeliner and mascara and one eyeshadow but I want to know how to use different tones on different parts of the lid. Are there certain rules? Thanks :)

The only main rule is to blend it out. Usually people place lighter colors on the lid and darker colors in the crease area, to add dimension. I would say just play with different colors, and don't be afraid to use bright colors! Also a white base can help intensify the look. If you need any more help don't hesitate to ask. :)

I like to use a white eyeliner all over my lid. It acts as a primer and adds definition. My typical routine is to apply the white eyeliner, a light base color such as pale pink or a shimmery tan/light brown. I then add a color in a V shape beginning at the outer edge of my eye on the crease, usually dark purple or earthy tones such as dark brown, copper, or a hazelnut.

And then depending on the look I'm going for, I will either just add mascara and be done or I will add a tad but of black eyeliner or some colored eyeliner. I like purple, jade, and blue. Sometimes brown or grey too. I'm all about color! Dont forget to blend and clean up any residue. And overall, Don't be afraid to be daring and try new things! Make combinations that you would typically think would look bad because sometimes they end up being fabulous! Have fun!

I do a lot of dramatic makeup, which I'm assuming you aren't planning on doing, but you can take some of the techniques I use and kind of tailor everything to your own preference. :)
