Why edit pictures when asking opinion?

I don't get why people edit their photo and then ask if their lipstick/hair colour/eye shadow/ whatever suits them, when the picture is clearly too over exposed or over edited to ve able to tell?

I'm.not being snaky, I just genuinely wonder.

I feel that people ask us b/c they don't know us and we will be true to them. maybe they edit their photo so we can get a closer look everyone phone don't take good pix. and if you feel that's it's full of sxxx don't write to their comments

So genuine questions arent allowed?
I know why people ask opinions. and think its fab they/we/I do. I love to give a genuine opinion but I struggle to if somone is asking "does this lipstick suitmy skintone"" and then you can't actually see their skintone...

They are only harming themselves, what may look good in an edited photo probably won't be so good in real life.

My camera turns everything a light blue (hmm new camera might be in order) so I have to edit the colour temperature. I know some people adjust the contrast which can make the colours more vivid and I suppose that would make it difficult for people to 'critique'

I agree with Heather T. Also Bethany wasn't being rude to anyone, she was just asking a question like everyone else does, if her question is something y'all don't agree with or don't want to read, don't comment. Life is to short to be getting all defensive with her for no reason 🙈🙉🙊

Omg this is exactly what I have been thinking for the past few days... it makes no sense to ask us what we think when we can't see... lol.

*snarky
She already stated she wasn't being mean or snarky. There's no reason to continue repeating it. No one was getting defensive; they were answering her question. Some cameras mess things up, like Kaitlyn's, but if it's too messed with, we can't actually give a good opinion, which is what Bethany was getting at. I agree.

Well I don't know how to fit into this discussion. I cheat a tad bit by using a daylight bulb and face it towards me to show the colors and what not. I am unsure if it counts on editing (my actual edited photos by Instagram are on my page.) But if it does, I am clearly sorry. People like me try our hardest not edit photos. It happens though cause of the crappy camera some phones come with. Although I can tell you I do not use photoshop. If I offend women on here that do forgive me, but is quite dull in my opinion. Another thing I cheat with is the fact that I use my iPod for photos. But I clearly get your point. No harm done right? Just a decent top with a question and some answers to help understand.
