Growing strong nails

Who knows any home or DIY recipes to strengthen nails naturally. I've always tried to grow out my nails but anytime they reach a certain length they break.It's so frustrating.
I've heard of treatments like soaking them in salty water but it didn't work.
Any suggestions?

It's not a home remedy bit Sally Hanson has a clear polish that strengthens and hardens and helps nails grow. I've used it and seen improvements.
